Worcestershire drone survey inspections
Get a clear aerial perspective of your dream Worcestershire home
Take your Worcestershire home survey to the next level
Worcestershire is home to thousands of older properties, many of which are in rural locations. Some areas, like steep roofs or high chimneys, are unsafe and almost impossible to inspect properly without scaffolding or ladders.
At GB Home Surveys, we use the latest technology to give you a complete picture of the property you’re interested in. Our drone survey inspections offer a unique vantage point, allowing us to carefully check those hard-to-reach areas.
As an optional add-on to your RICS Home Survey Level 2 or Level 3 service, our drones capture high-quality images of roofs, chimneys and other parts of the building you can’t see from the ground. Combined with the surveyor’s interpretation and advice, these give you a much clearer understanding of the property’s condition.
Getting a drone survey inspection in Worcestershire
Worcestershire is a county known for its scenic landscapes, picturesque villages and mix of modern and historic homes. From charming cottages in the Cotswolds to elegant Georgian terraced homes in Worcester, the property market here has seen significant growth. Detached houses dominate the Worcestershire market.
At GB Home Surveys, we understand that Worcestershire’s diverse property market presents its own challenges. That’s why, whether you’re considering historic homes in Malvern, cottages near Evesham or modern properties in Worcester, our drone survey inspections give you the clarity to make an informed decision.
During the RICS Home Survey Level 2 or Level 3, the chartered surveyor will begin the drone survey. Our drones are small, lightweight, and efficient, with up to 35 minutes of useful flying time.
Once up in the air, the surveyor uses the drone’s on-board camera to capture high-resolution images. They’ll take pictures the features most prone to problems, like chimneys and roof channels, as well as multiple images of the entire roof to check its condition.
Once the drone is back on the ground, the chartered surveyor completes the RICS home survey and heads back to our Worcestershire office. They’ll carefully review the images for issues like roof damage, pooling or chimney cracks. Whatever they find, they’ll include it all – along with at least four photos – in your final inspection report, which you’ll receive within seven business days of the survey.
What our drone survey inspections can reveal from above
Worcestershire is home to many historic homes, such as the Victorian, Georgian and Tudor properties you find in areas like Worcester, Pershore, the Vale of Evesham and Malvern. Built long before building and safety regulations, homes of this age are especially prone to issues that might not be obvious without a proper inspection. A drone survey lets us spot these issues early, including:
- Chimney cracks - Older Worcestershire homes often feature traditional chimneys. When these crack, it can cause water ingress or structural issues.
- Water pooling or drainage issues – Our drones can spot pooling on flat roofs or areas with poor drainage.
- Cracked parapet walls – parapet walls on older properties are prone to cracking, allowing moisture to penetrate and cause further damage.
- Damaged or deteriorated dormer windows – drones can spot issues like rotting wood or water ingress around dormer windows.
- Structural shifts or cracks in rooflines – drones might detect early signs of roofline cracks, which may indicate larger foundation problems
Adding a drone inspection for much-needed reassurance
When you’re buying or selling a home, it’s essential to know about any issues before they become a problem. Our drone survey inspections offer several benefits that might make all the difference to your Worcestershire property-buying experience.
Check for hidden issues:
Buying a house with roof problems means the elements get in. Avoid the risks of damp, rot, mould, structural issues or heating problems by thoroughly checking the roof before signing on the dotted line.
Time and cost-effective:
Although drone technology is still evolving, we’ve come a long way. Our drones are small, light and easy to launch. They stay in the air for around 35 minutes, which is plenty of time to get lots of useful images.
Important for unusual roofs:
Reassure yourself that the roof’s still in good condition before you commit.
Non-invasive surveying approach:
With a drone, there’s no need for the surveyor to put up any scaffolding or find a vantage point from elsewhere. Plus, the current owner won’t have to clear a path, so they’re more likely to be on board.
Expert analysis included:
After the inspection, including the drone survey, is complete, the chartered surveyor will analyse the images from the drone. They’ll include their findings (good or bad) in the report they send you.
Know what you’re buying:
Buying a house is, for most people, the most expensive purchase of their lives. The more you know, the better. Put the effort in now so you aren’t hit with any nasty surprises later.
